Sports and Fitness
Supporting local sports and fitness initiatives in our communities
Our ethos is based on building communities where our residents want to live, play, work and enjoy living. As such, support of sports and fitness initiatives is a key part of our activity at community level.

Championing local clubs
As well as sponsorship of clubs across Leinster and Munster, we regularly lend support to smaller clubs and local underage sports teams as well as newly launched Academy programmes including East Wall Bessborough FC in Dublin Docklands.
Aid new initiatives
To help support fitness in our communities, we aim to integrate cycling paths and walkways to our developments where possible. In 2021, together with local businesses in Kilcock, we supported a new start-up cycling club, the Kilcock Wheelers, by co-sponsoring their club jerseys.
Support diverse sports
We look to support women in sport and aid youth participation in sport and fitness activities where we can especially ladies’ football, fitness programmes in disadvantaged areas and underage sports.
Activate partnerships
We work with national partners who have a shared approach to activating at grassroots level. This year, we are lead sponsors of the Gaelic4Girls programme, promoting participation in Gaelic games for girls aged eight upwards. The programme supports local clubs in increasing their number of players, integrates new players into existing teams as well as develops younger girls athletic and social skills in a fun and nurturing environment.
There is a real synergy between the work that we do with the Gaelic4Girls programme, and the impact of Glenveagh in local communities. The shared focus around community and increasing participation in sport for young girls is what makes our partnership work so well.
